Add fruit to any meal with this delicious and easy to prepare applesauce! Serve warm or chilled any time of the day!
Ingredients
8 large apples, peeled and cut into slices
2 teaspoons lemon juice
½ cup water
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
Directions
Combine apples, water and lemon juice in a large saucepan.
Simmer, uncovered for 10 minutes, the apples will breakdown and be part sauce and part chunky.
Watch closely and stir often to prevent burning.
Applesauce should be thick; add more water if necessary.
Leave sauce chunky or place in a blender until smooth.
Add cinnamon and nutmeg.
